Community Newswire - charities and community groups can submit their press release to this website free of charge (although it does not publish all releases). If your story is published it will reach the many journalists subscribing to the Press Association's wire service.
Media UK - a good source of information on different media outlets. Holds information on radio stations, television channels, newspapers, and magazines. The contact details are sometimes out-of-date, but for a free resource this is great.
ABC - Statistics on the distribution of local and national newspapers.
Newspaper Society website - has details of most newspaper titles in Britain. Use their search feature to find the names of papers in the area that your charity wants to targetRadionow.co.uk - has links to the websites of all radio stations in the UK. For example, here is their list of radio stations in Hertfordshire, Bedfordshire and Buckinghamshire.
BBC Local website - by searching for a particular place name or postcode you can find out which BBC local radio stations are based in the area that your charity wants to target.
