Paid search vs free listings

Paid search are adverts that are displayed alongside the normal search results (free listings) when people search for certain keywords.

In Google, paid search adverts are displayed along the top and right-hand column of the page, while free listings are displayed in the main section of the page. This is illustrated in the Google screenshot below.

You cannot pay to change the position of your charity's website in the free listings - the only way to change this is through SEO.
